The Pitch Drop Experiment – a physics experiment that has been running for 85 years demonstrates the fluidity and high viscosity of pitch, a derivative of tar 100 billion times more viscous than water, once used for waterproofing boats. A drop drops every ten years and the next one is expected to drop in 2013.
